Taste Ulverston 2019
The bustling producers’ market, the temptation of the hot food court, the chance to learn from some crafty experts, a beer festival and fun for all the family – they’re just a few reasons why it’s worth visiting Taste Cumbria in Ulverston this Summer.
The event takes place on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 during the last Bank Holiday weekend of the month.
More than 50 traders will bring their food, drink and homewares to the producers market throughout Market Street, Brogden Street, New Market Street and Cross Street. There will also be a host of stalls selling food to eat on the spot, with flavours ranging from street food and international fare, to tasty Cumbrian meats.
Outside the landmark Coronation Hall there will be children’s entertainment, including arty sessions with a foodie theme, provided by the fabulous team from Ford Park. There will also be walkabout theatre taking place throughout the town.
Town favourite Beerwolf, which opened as a bottleshop and tap room in Market Street in 2017, will be the focus for the Taste Cumbria beer festival, with a host of local brews on offer. There’ll be live music in the street and tasting notes for avid beer fans.
An added extra for festival regulars will be the Makers Market which will take place in Market Street on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors will have the chance to see crafty and arty experts in action and buy their wares to take home.
Festival organiser Anna Chippendale, of CN Events, said: “Visitors are going to have a great time in Ulverston at this year’s Taste Cumbria food festival. There will be loads going on, whether you want to eat, drink, shop or learn something new.
“I’m really pleased the team from Beerwolf will be hosting the beer festival. My advice is to get there early if there’s something you particularly want to try – it’s not unusual for them to sell out on a Taste Cumbria weekend!”
This is the second Taste Cumbria event of the year. The first was held in Kirkby Lonsdale in April, then the next festival takes place during the last weekend of September in Cockermouth, with a Taste Cumbria Christmas market also taking place there in December.
There are a few trade stand spaces left in Ulverston for food and drink producers. For more details, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01228 612000.
