Foodies across the county are looking forward to the county’s biggest culinary treat.
The 2018 Taste Cumbria festival takes place in Cockermouth on Saturday, 29 and Sunday, 30 September.
The main event will include 80 stalls in the producers market on Main Street. In Market Place there will be the hot food court. There will also be a secret gin garden, demonstrations and masterclasses with some of Cumbria’s best chefs, and free town trails to help visitors explore.
One of the highlights will be the exclusive pop-up restaurant which, for the second time, will be held Wordsworth House & Garden. Guests will dine in the historic house’s kitchen with food created by Michelin-starred chef Kevin Tickle from Forest Side in Grasmere. Just 32 guests will have the chance to enjoy this amazing experience at two sittings on Friday, 28 September.
At Jennings Brewery, there will be the ever-popular beer festival, which will be run by Jennings and Tractor Shed Brewery of Workington. An added attraction there this year will be the Prosecco and The Pig picnic which will feature cocktails from The Tipsy Filly and food from Stonehouse Smokery, who are both based in Carlisle.
A comedy night will take place at Kirkgate Arts on the Friday. Three comedians from the UK circuit, including Taste Cumbria favourite Matt Reed, will take to the stage for what is always a sell-out event.
Around 40,000 people come and join us at Taste Cumbria Cockermouth each year – a sure sign that this is a fantastic event so come along and join us for our fabulous foodie festival!
